I am a beginner in Neural Networks. I would like to know what is the criteria in choosing the number of layers, number of neurons and number of connections.

Number of layers can be three. one for input, one for hidden, and one output layer.... becoz, eventually ading number of hidden layers wont give you any significant advantage... number of hidden neurons represent the dimensions of the classifier bondary. If u choose a large number of Hidden neurons, it will result in overfitting. number of input neurons is the size of input vector.
